THE University of the Philippines Information Technology Training Center UP ITTC Launches Android MMDA application

Information Technology Asia--Just recently,  the Android application was launched by UP ITTC in cooperation with the Metro Manila Develpment Authority to minimize traffic problems in the National Capital Region.
Android users can now view and  counter traffic jams in Metro Manila by using Metro Manila Development Authority’s MMDA for Android™.
Developed and innovated  by the University of the Philippines Information Technology Training Center in Diliman  (UP ITTC),  users can now monitor traffic situations in EDSA, C5, SLEX, Roxas Boulevard, Ortigas, Commonwealth, Marcos Highway, Katipunan, España, and Quezon Avenue and find an alternate route when approaching a traffic jam ahead of time and  users can also share traffic information via Twitter and  notify  their followers.
The MMDA for Android™ and frequently asked  stores can be located at the MMDA office directory to easily locate references on the road.
Also released in September is the iOs version, designed and developed by Giro AppSolutions, Inc. Both applications use traffic data from MMDA-TV5 Metro Manila Traffic Navigator.

The MMDA for Android™ is already available for download at http://ittc.up.edu.ph/upittc/node/399   and on the Android Market.https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=10150425918137855
